I am finally taking the time to sit and write about what happened last week! On Tuesday I started having contractions at about 6:30pm. I kept up with them and they were getting stronger and felt different. It seemed more real to me than the other had that day. So, William fixed supper for him and Winter and then we headed over to the hospital at about 7:30-8. By the time we got to Longview, much to my demise, the contractions stopped! I was so upset because I just KNEW it was the real thing! I didn't want to get into the hospital and then go back home. So, we talked about it for a little while and decided to go somewhere and shop for a little while. We went to Michael's...yes WILLIAM too me to Michael's...the sad part was, I didn't feel like buying anything!!! Anyway, about 5 minutes after I was up and moving the contractions were back! William really wanted to get the Wii fit, so we went to Best Buy and got one. By that time, I knew we needed to head back to the hospital.
By the time we got there, checked in, and got me checked out, it was about 9:45. Finally, after being watched for 2 or so hours, I was dilated to a 2 and they decided to keep me. As soon as the nurse said Dr. John said you are staying I asked for my epidural! Bring on the drugs!!! Labor progressed slow after that and we got some rest. Not too much because I was getting sick to my stomach and the medicine they gave me for that made me feel anxious. WOW!!! That was a trip. Hey, something to try...try to keep yourself from puking, or even try dry heaving, when you have had an epidural! It was the strangest feeling EVER!
Anyway..... :) At about 7:45, my doctor came in and broke my water. After that, the contractions got harder. Finally at about 12:20 I got to push. I say got to because I was so ready at that point!I pushed for no more than 10 minutes and Maxx was here. To me, the birth was the uneventful part. They couldn't get me to stop bleeding and were working on that for about 2 hours. (Mind you I haven't eaten since about 3pm Tuesday.) I remember my doctor coming in and telling me what was going to happen, giving me Demerol, and then some other doctor telling me that they were taking me to the OR (I think that is where it was) to do a D&C. He was telling me all about it and to this day I don't have a clue what happened! I lost about 4 hours that afternoon. It all worked out, but by that time I had lost a good bit of blood. They said I didn't need to be given blood, but that I would be anemic for a while. I was VERY sore the next day and am finally only feeling sore because of having the baby...not all the other stuff.
I will say, after Maxx arrived, it was rather frightening. We are all okay now. Maxx is so handsome and Winter is doing well with him. I'm honestly surprised at how well she's doing. She will hold him, feed him, and her job is to put the diaper in the trash when he is changed. She loves it and loves her little brother.
I have some great pictures of Winter, Maxx, and William but for some reason the camera and card in the camera are flipping out. I will get them up here as soon as I can!

Holly - Glad all is well now. He is a cutie! That does sound a bit scary! Take care of those sweet babies of yours!
I'm so glad everything worked out! The best part about all that pain and worry is that he's here! It will still take you a few months to get enough sleep to enjoy him fully, but he's here! He is a beautiful blessing from God!
